Michael Newcome and Rick Wetherbee signed an agreement with the right to purchase the Crossville Dragway effective Friday 02-10-2018. A full racing schedule has been in the works since January, currently there is a partial schedule posted on the website. The track will host a number of special events as well as some heads up racing every month, there will also be a full season of bracket racing and a points series, Charlie Paterson was hired back on as the race director for all bracket racing in 2018. They have plans to continue upgrades to the facility over the course of 2018.
The track will open in March for Test N Tune / Grudge Racing. “We are excited for this opportunity and look forward to creating some great racing events for years to come” – said Rick Wetherbee. The Rocky Top Diesel Shootout will return to Crossville Dragway for its 4th consecutive year. The first weekend in April, Street Outlaws Boosted GT and Kayla will be at the track with an exciting show for the fans. “We are going to put on some awesome events in 2018 for fans and racers alike” – Said Michael Newcome. Crossville Dragway is a family oriented facility, both Michael and Rick’s families will be working at the track to make the 2018 racing season fun for everyone.
